"Lao Can's Travels" is a novella in the late Qing Dynasty. It takes the travels of Lao Can, a practicing doctor, as the main line. Crimes involving knowledge and immorality are the most terrifying.
It was a bit taxing to read, but I finished it like a chewer. The story has a deep feeling at the end. Virtue is higher than crime. Virtue is done intentionally, while sin is mostly forced. If you break the precepts, you can overcome them by yourself, accumulate good deeds, and don't be afraid of ghosts knocking on your door. Just like the teachings of Teacher Mu: Do the right thing, do the right thing.
