Macbeth
About This Novel
General Macbeth, cousin of King Duncan of Scotland, returned from serving the king in countering rebellion and resisting invasion. He met three witches on the way. The witch told him some prophecies and cryptic words, saying that he would be crowned king, but he had no heirs to inherit the throne. Instead, the descendants of his colleague General Banquo would be the king. He is quite moved, and his wife is a woman with a heart like a snake. She wanted nothing more than to sit on the queen's throne. Macbeth, who was originally kind-hearted, finally became insane under her instigation. He committed regicide when the king visited his home. After this he ascended to the throne. In order to cover up others' eyes and prevent others from seizing the throne, he killed Duncan's guards step by step, killed Banquo, killed the wife and children of the noble Macduff, and eradicated dissidents step by step, and Scotland fell into massacre.
