About This Novel
Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, and Renee Chiwei star in the original movie "Cold Mountain" of the same name. Inman, a Confederate soldier at the end of the Civil War, walked alone with his scarred body and soul, just to return to his hometown of Cold Mountain and his sweetheart Ada; Ada was alone in the mountain manor, and was forced to learn to face the conspiracy of rice and rice necessary for survival. The war is raging, things have changed, and only the cold mountain still stands, carrying the memories shared by the lovers. Facing the cold mountains, Inman measured the land with his footsteps, while Ada embarked on a spiritual journey. Can their life trajectories overlap again? "Cold Mountain" recreates the history of the Civil War, writing about twisted human nature, pervasive loneliness, poignant love, and deep affection for the homeland, but more importantly, it reminds us of the meaning of going home.
