About This Novel
I have the same dream over and over again. In a university dormitory in a foreign country, on a long-distance train, or in an airplane cabin at an altitude of 10,000 meters, whenever I fall asleep, this strange dream will come unexpectedly: a dark room, a narrow window, and shabby curtains hanging on the window. One-third of the hanging rings above the curtains have fallen off, and the faint night light pours in from the incomplete hanging rings. I saw myself lying on a squeaky wooden bed, as if it was a very cold winter. I wrapped my whole body tightly in the quilt. In a state that seemed more like a dream than a dream, I suddenly opened my eyes and saw the white figure.
