Gucci is a young alternative painter whose works are famous for their supernatural, terrifying and eerie nature. On the eve of Qingming Festival, he came alone to Majiazhuang, the hometown of his girlfriend Xiaodan, intending to live here for a while and concentrate on creation. He and his girlfriend agreed in advance that they would not have any contact with each other during the painting period. Majiazhuang is a natural administrative village, close to the outskirts of the city, with a rich natural atmosphere. It is a hilly area and is surrounded by the Xiangshui River, an inland river connected to the Yangtze River, giving its geographical environment unique characteristics. Ten years ago, Majiazhuang was a famous local farmhouse resort, known as the city's back garden. However, today's Majiazhuang has long become depressed and deserted, and all the restaurants, hotels, and bars have disappeared without a trace. The village street with its unique architectural style also looks decadent because the houses are in disrepair, the walls are peeling off, and the courtyards are dilapidated.
