Romeo and Juliet
About This Novel
The play tells the story of Juliet, the daughter of the Italian aristocrat Capulet, and Romeo, the son of Montague, who love each other sincerely and vow to depend on each other, but are hindered by the feud between the two families for generations. Although "Romeo and Juliet" is a tragedy, the love between the two young male and female protagonists is not tragic in itself. They not only love each other, but also boldly pursue their love. Fighting without hesitation. The power of their love enables them to dare to face family hatred and challenge obstacles in life. They pursue a new way of life. They are not afraid to be the atoning lamb, so although their death is the end of life, they are a moral victory. Finally the two hostile families reconciled. In this sense, many scholars and critics call the play a tragedy of optimism, also known as a tragicomedy.
