About This Novel

This set of books is the "Dune Overture" series, including: "Dune Overture: The Atreides Family", "Dune Overture: The Harkonnen Family", and "Dune Overture: The Corino Family", a total of 3 volumes. The world of Dune is vast and extraordinary. Although there are six main stories, they do not show the entire Dune universe. Beginning in 1999, Brian Herbert inherited his father's legacy and jointly created more than ten Dune Gaiden novels with the famous fantasy literature writer Kevin J. Anderson. Brian was deeply influenced by his father, and he tried his best to maintain the most typical writing style of Dune in his creation. In addition, coupled with the many manuscripts and setting sketches left by Frank Herbert, these spin-off works have maintained a unified style with the main story, and authentically continued the Dune legend. Among the many spin-off works, the series "Dune Overture" is the most closely related to the main story. It tells the story of the fathers of Paul, the protagonist of "Dune". The majority of readers of Dune are familiar with many characters in the series: the upright Duke Leto, the loyal Lady Jessica, the evil Baron Harkonnen, the cunning and incompetent Emperor Shadam... This series tells the story of the experiences of these characters before the main story, and how they became who they are in the main story.

The Baron did not expect to find flowing water underground in Arrakis, but whether to mine the water source was a problem. Exploring the water source and selling it to civilians would make the merchants who sell the water panic.

In the desert, the most precious thing is water. As the only merchants selling water, they have become increasingly arrogant. After all, water is the source of life.
