Once upon a time. slow
The storyline is straightforward, without any bloody plot, but it is damn touching. It allowed me to see the youth of our era and the persistence and perseverance of the older generation. In the past, the sun became slower, the carriages, horses and mails were slower. There was only enough time to love one person in a lifetime.
Watching it, I cried, for their love, family ties and friendship... People must have a goal in this life, or maybe it is faith. I like those unpretentious restorers. Although they don't have a lot of money or even a reputation, it is a persistent pursuit. I pay tribute to them.
Find "quietness" and "slowness" in the floating world
I read this work purely as a romance at first, and childhood sweethearts itself is a general romance setting. But after reading one or two chapters, I changed my mind, so I am willing to call it a work rather than a current story. The craftsmanship of the male and female protagonist's parents and their master's generation, the persistence and perseverance, and the original intention that remains calm despite ups and downs, all moved me. The author even describes their loves, hates, and their fireworks life, which enriches their images and makes the labels on them not simply "the male and female parents" or "the male and female parents' teachers", but real lives of flesh and blood. As the author said, their four seasons throughout the year are just a few of the author's days and nights, but what I saw was indeed their whole life. The male protagonist also has a kind of "steadiness" and "quietness" that this impetuous steel-reinforced society lacks. His love for the heroine is true love, and he will love it for his whole life, but he will not impose his thoughts on others. He is willing to love in his own way, which is "waiting" and "waiting", just like the heroine in the article said, "As long as Brother Nian is behind me, I feel at ease." There are even some friends of the protagonist. They are all alive. It is easy to write people, but it is difficult to write people alive. The author also explained it very clearly in the article, and accidentally couldn't help but analyze them again, but as the author said, she really wrote it with her heart, and she left this work to the world. And what can we leave to the world now? The author uses this question throughout the entire work, so I think this is no longer a simple romance, it is a thought-provoking work.
Emotional novels, as the author said in the postscript, contain the shadow of the author's boyhood. It tells the story of ordinary people in Beijing, so it has a Beijing flavor, and the romance part is quite satisfactory. There are no three childhood sweethearts, two boys chase one girl, and the last boy sadly quits; or the childhood sweetheart has been in love with the sweetheart for many years, but the sweetheart has his own heart. Although there are three childhood sweethearts, one childhood sweetheart and the sweetheart just happen to be in love with each other, and the other sweetheart likes his college classmate. The implicit emotional expressions are actually quite touching. For example, Dou Fu CP may be about the same age as me, and his emotional experience also has the plain characteristics of people of our generation. I was reminded of another sentimental novel (Suffering Together), which was also very touching, and maybe the novel's era background is closer to the era when I grew up - it is estimated to be ten years earlier than this one (Glazed Tile) - so I feel more familiar with it. However, there is a trace of sadness in the lines of this novel. After all, it shows the loss of many lives, including an old cat. Within the walls of the ancient palace, the flowers are the same year after year, and what remains unchanged is the spirit of the three generations of old, middle and young people who are willing to work in ordinary but indispensable work; outside the walls of the palace, it is a world that is changing with each passing day: Hutongs are changing, high-rise buildings are rising, people's hearts are not the same... In the great changes of the times, if you keep thinking about the past, you will indeed feel sad. I think the most interesting and novel plot is the one at the end where the phone is leaked: an old landline phone can only answer the phone hands-free, and the different reactions of the three parents who are about to become in-laws make people laugh. I kept thinking while reading: Beijing is so nice! You can go to a prestigious university right at your doorstep; I suspect Beijing Foreign Studies University may not even have an enrollment quota for Italian here...
Cars and horses are slow, time is fast, one person loves one person all his life
"In the past, carriages and horses were very slow, and there was only enough time to love one person in a lifetime." Nowadays, the carriages and horses are very fast, and you will meet many people and see many scenery in your life, but there is only one person you really love. Time flies so fast, some people hold the hand of the person they love, while others miss it...
"Loving someone doesn't seem to be that difficult." There's nothing difficult about it. Met, fell in love, stayed together, got to know each other. This is what love is all about.
It's good. I feel Yun Jin is more like Kang Moshui. It's good. Their endings are both good. It's just a pity that Aunt Jinning is so good. Maybe it's because she is so good.
Don't be obsessed with things.
It's really beautiful!
I haven't read such a beautiful novel in a long time. It has full characters and smooth writing. It not only reflects the ups and downs of young people's experiences, but also the persistence and perseverance of the older generation of craftsmen. Very interesting, recommended, I would like to read other works by the author.
