Don't dare to speak loudly for fear of frightening the people in heaven.
Persistence is a dangerous vanity, but it is also a medal of strength. Especially for detectives who refuse to admit defeat, it is a very important professional ethics. The image of a tough-guy detective who sometimes makes wisecracks and is serious and restrained at other times is refreshing.
