About This Novel
11 travelers went on a sailing trip to an uninhabited island and encountered a shipwreck during the journey. Among them, 10 passengers swam to the island, but only one man failed to swim ashore. His girlfriend begged everyone to come and save people. Facing the turbulent sea and bad weather, the companions who survived the disaster were afraid to retreat. In the end, a swimmer stepped forward, but he also made an unexpected request... This book uses flashbacks to trace old cases through the private investigation perspective of a female mystery novelist, and reveals the true face of a group of "bad guys" who take advantage of each other. It was published as a kappa novel in 1987, a library version in 1990, and a new edition in 2009. A movie adaptation was released in 2011, starring Hiromi Nagasaku.
