Dune 1 (2024 New Supplementary and Revised Edition)
About This Novel
"Dune" is on every "must-read" book list. It is the first work to win both the Hugo Award and the Nebula Award. It is a must-read classic in the history of science fiction. Every time human beings face up to their own insignificance, it is a huge progress for themselves. The arid planet - sand dunes, is the origin of the "spice" that humans compete for. Here, a space opera of power and betrayal, fear and hatred, hope and dreams is staged. Paul, a young man with a broken family and a homeless family, is fighting his fate here. In the face of fate, he is so small, yet so powerful. The author Frank Herbert is a very influential science fiction master in the United States and a master alongside Asimov. The story structure of "Dune" has had a profound impact on classic science fiction movies such as "Star Wars" and "Avatar". "Dune" was adapted into "Dune 2000", the originator of the world-famous real-time strategy game...

Good books, study hard
Incredibly, there are no aliens in the Dune universe. Even the weirdest creature-the mutated Guild Navigator-is human. The evil genetic sorcerers-the Tleilaxu, and the Gurrans raised in Tleilaxu vats-are also humans. The most unusual human beings imagined by Frank Herbert were the ladies of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, who could share a common memory - a concept largely based on the teachings of Carl Gustav Jung, who believed that there was a "collective unconscious" that was innately shared by humans as "a common pattern of content and behavior." My father discussed these concepts at length with Ralph Strary's wife, Irene, a psychologist who had studied with Jung in Switzerland in the 1930s.
Passing mission.
Everyone's road and future tomorrow will be dark and confused.
Paul became aware of his nervousness and decided to practice the mind-body classes taught by his mother. Three quick breaths triggered a reaction: He fell into a dissociated state of consciousness... Concentrating his thoughts... Expanding arteries and blood vessels... Getting rid of all distracting thoughts... Remaining only the part of consciousness he chose... The blood became full and flowed quickly to the overloaded area... Instinct alone cannot enable people to obtain food, safety, and freedom... No matter how much the beast's consciousness is extended, it cannot go beyond a specific moment, nor can it generate the thought that its prey may be extinct... Humans destroy, but do not produce... The pleasure of beasts is always close to the sensory level and cannot reach the perceptual level... Human beings need a background network through which they can see their own universe clearly... Selectively control your thoughts, which will build your network... According to the deepest level of consciousness issued by the cells' needs, nerves and blood flow regularly, and the body also remains intact... Everything in the world, creatures, and humans are not eternal... The eternal struggle for the endless flow...
Spices are only found on Dune - that is, on Arrakis.
In the distant future, humans have left the earth and established an empire in space. The three forces of the Imperial Government, the Landsrad Federation, and the Astronautical Guild check and balance each other. The key to the checks and balances is the spice, that is, melange. The Landsrad Federation is composed of some large planetary lord families in the empire. Major families, including the imperial government, all have certain shares in the Astronautical Union, which controls spices and interstellar travel. At the same time, the Astronautical Union also needs the precognition ability provided by spices to conduct interstellar travel... This imperial society also needs other organizations, such as the Ixians, who are responsible for inventing and making various tools needed by the imperial society; such as the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood, which participates in politics through the marriage of sisterhood members to planet lords. Of course, the Virgin Mary of the sisterhood cannot do without spices. The spices that the entire empire cannot live without are only found on the Dune planet, which is Arrakis.
