The image is very strong, maybe it focuses on describing the psychology, is it the heart of the dead or the murderer's own heartbeat?

The male protagonist has a very ambivalent attitude towards this revenge, and wants to take action, but he gives the other party tactful persuasion again and again on the way. All I can say later is that he is skilled in building walls.
I don't quite understand the first article...
He imagined that Berenice was critically ill, and he was obsessed with teeth and knocked out Berenice's teeth and buried her alive. . . OMG
