About This Novel

Persia, the center of the ancient world, a powerful empire that stood side by side with the Qin and Han Dynasties, was a key hub for exchanges between China and the West. Following "Our China", Professor Li Ling examines ancient Central Asia and world history from "our" perspective, and reproduces the afterglow of Persia with wonderful pictures and texts. The Persian Empire had three major characteristics: first, it was large, including not only all the countries in the Middle and Near East, but also most countries in the southern section of the Silk Road; second, it was unified, similar to the Qin and Han Empires, it was also a large regional country that was "unified by car and book"; third, it had a very close relationship with China, and all precious commodities, animals and plants, and Chinese foreign religions were intermediary with Persia. This book organizes the history of the Persian Empire in a systematic and detailed manner, and comprehensively compares all aspects of ancient China and the Persian Empire. It is divided into two parts. The ten chapters of the first part are "History-Geography", which is about the politics, territory, system, and religion of the Persian Empire. The ten chapters of the second part are "Archaeology-Art", which introduce palaces, stone carvings, artworks, and museum artifacts. This book opens a new perspective on contemporary China for us to look at the civilization process of Eurasia over the past two thousand years.
