About This Novel
"Peter Pan Gray" is the sixth book in the "Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park" series by Ishida Iro, and includes four stories: "Peter Pan Gray", "Reunion with the Beast", "Unlicensed Nursery in Front of the Station" and "Ikebukuro Phoenix Project". This book continues Ishida Kira's consistent style, with twists and turns of the story and rich urban fashion elements, plus a cool, dark and warm style of writing, making it highly readable. The four stories in this book are all wonderful and reveal important social issues. "Gray Peter Pan" tells the story of a teenager who makes money by stealing rows and is blackmailed; "Reunion with the Beast" is about revenge and reconciliation, as well as compassion and tolerance; "Unlicensed Nursery in Front of the Station" is about the upbringing of the children of Japanese hotel ladies and the problem of pedophilia; the main theme of the "Ikebukuro Phoenix Project" is to eliminate foreigners in the name of elevating the street culture. As a result, the entire Ikebukuro is in decline, and is full of real concerns for marginalized groups.
