Not bad writing
The beginning is okay, but it gets more and more suspenseful towards the end. There are pits dug for the protagonist everywhere, foreshadowings are laid everywhere, and there are a bunch of "companions" who can't tell whether they are enemies or friends. It's really a trap... Even though it ended in the end, it was still confusing.
