About This Novel
Female college student Mizuki Yamamura witnessed her friend screaming and falling to the ground and died suddenly. Social youth Suzuki Haruo received a call from his brother whom he had not contacted for a long time. He rushed there only to find that his brother was dead. In order to investigate the truth behind the mysterious death of a close relative, the two set out to a hot spring resort where the deceased had been together not long ago. There, the two met reporter Kota Mamiya and heard a strange story. And this strange story seems to be the cause of the strange death... The historical scrolls about the remote mountain village are being unfolded, and the truth that has been sealed for decades is about to reappear in the world.

Similar to Sadako and So-and-so Village, this ending ends abruptly. I feel that both explanations are reasonable... This is the first time I see a story in which the protagonist neither fully reveals the truth nor has a clear ending.
