About This Novel
In 1971, the year after the Expo in Osaka, Japan, the heroine Suzui was born in a small village cafeteria in Omacho, Higashi-Mino City, Gifu Prefecture. She was a lively and energetic little girl. However, she became deaf in her left ear due to an illness (mumps) when she was in elementary school, but she was not discouraged and continued to live a cheerful life with the encouragement of her parents and childhood sweethearts. After graduating from high school, she had a rich imagination and went to Tokyo with the goal of becoming a cartoonist, where she worked hard under the guidance of her teachers and peers. But the Japanese bubble economy era for the next ten years came to an end, and she also spent the first half of her rough life.
