About This Novel
The story takes place during the time when Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy ruled Narnia. One day, young Shasta discovers that he will be sold as a slave by his adoptive father to a vicious Calormene noble. At night, he escaped with the nobleman's horse, Buri. Bree was originally a talking horse in Narnia. Shasta fled with it to Narnia. On the way, they met the noble girl Aravis and her talking mare Hwin. Aravis ran away because he was dissatisfied with the arranged marriage. So the four of them walked together. They went through many hardships and learned that Rabadash, the prince of Calormene, tried to raid the city of Anwad in Archenland and then attack Narnia after his proposal to Queen Susan was rejected. In the end, Shasta saves Narnia and Archenland. After victory, he discovered that he was the prince of Archenland, formerly known as Keao. He was stolen by a traitor with evil intentions when he was a child, and was later raised by a fisherman. He later succeeded to the throne of Archenland and married Aravis.
