About This Novel
The fictional Central American city of San Cristóbal was once like any other large city in its vicinity, the economic center of the region, growing tea and citrus. With the prosperity of small businesses, the construction of hydropower stations and the repair of rivers, the entire city began to join the ranks of modern civilization. People are so immersed in prosperity, but they don't know that the world they live in has completely failed and has become a crude and meaningless structure. The bureaucracy envelopes everyone like a glued net, and life is as dull and boring as a metronome... "This is how the world ends, Not a bang, but a hiss. "Children are the dream of the new world, the remnants of the old world. Their appearance is like a gentle sigh, announcing the end of ancient American civilization; like a carefully built temple of light in the sewer, breaking through all the fog in sight.
