About This Novel

"The Lost Sheep" is a novella. The novel is set in three cities along the Yangtze River in the 1920s - "City A", Nanjing, and Shanghai. It describes the lives of frustrated young intellectuals at that time. The "I" in the work is a Mr. Wang who has just graduated from university. He met and fell in love with the famous actress Xie Yueying in city A. They fell in love with each other madly, but their life began to be in crisis. The novel boldly exposes itself, is fanatical and even morbid, and is full of romantic sentimentality, accompanied by a strong subjective lyricism.
