Collected Works of Satine (volume 1): Gold Rush·trapped Beast
by Satine
About This Novel
I was born on the 13th day of the winter lunar month in 1904, and my original name was Yang Chaoxi. After graduating from Sichuan Provincial First Normal University, he changed his name to Yang Ziqing. "Satin" was the pen name I used when I published a collection of short stories, "Routes Outside the Law" (later renamed "Routes"), in 1932. I also published a short story in "Free Talk" under the pseudonym "Yin Guang" and published a collection of short stories called "Pregnancy". My father was born in the Qing Dynasty. My grandfather's experience is unknown. I only heard that he was famous for his calligraphy. When I was five or six years old, my father passed away, leaving behind about fifty acres of land and a yard. What impressed me most when I was a child was that my uncles entangled my mother very hard over family property issues. I was also deeply impressed by the social life of the county town and some of its towns. Because when I was young, I often followed my uncle in teahouses and visited various places, and came into contact with all kinds of people. I only have one eldest brother who once served in the local army and died long ago.
