This book is a novel by Japanese writer Tsuboi Sakae (1899-1967). It tells the story of Hisako Oishi, a female primary school teacher in a small fishing village on the Cape, who tried her best to teach a class of innocent children. Because of the war, twelve children suffered changes. Hisako Oishi had doubts about education and wanted to resign from his teaching position, but he eventually returned to the children. Through the experiences of teachers and students in the war, they accuse the Japanese people of the disasters caused by the aggressive war and promote peace. This work is regarded as a classic children's literature and anti-war work. Lead readers to remember and think about war. The movie of the same name was released in 1954 and left a deep impression on Chinese movie fans. It is a classic teacher-student love movie comparable to "Dead Poets Society".
