About This Novel
This is the first time I have seen such a sunset. The sun has set, like a goose egg yolk stuck to the skyline. The sky is a strange pink color, and ship-like clouds are floating low in the sky, as if they are within reach. I climbed to the seventh floor rooftop. A silhouette fell on the water pipe, holding hands and looking at the horizon, motionless, like an old cat basking in the sun. I couldn't see his face clearly in the brilliance of the setting sun, but I knew who it was. "Lao Tan." I called him. "Well." He turned around and said, "The typhoon is coming." "Is this what happens when a typhoon comes?" I asked, pointing to the blood on the horizon. "No. I just think this view is rare..." "The sweet potatoes won't be flooded, right? Those things will rot if soaked in water... All the sweet potatoes planted behind our dormitory are sweet potatoes."
