About This Novel

The aesthetics of physical violence and the undercurrent of humanity beneath the iceberg are a Southern American version of the Godfather-style tragedy. The work of Brian Panovich, winner of the International Thriller Novelists Association's Best First Novel Award, was selected into the 2021 Amazon North American "Editor's Choice Best Thriller and Suspense Novels" list. Wymore, Georgia, is a remote valley town in the southern United States. Clayton Burroughs is the good sheriff of the town, maintaining law and order in the land and water. Ten miles out of the town, there is a mist-shrouded mountain called Bull Mountain. On the mountain lies a vicious and brutal criminal empire that has been running for many years. But Sheriff Burroughs had no plans to destroy Bull Mountain, because it was the Burroughs family that was in charge of that empire, and he was the last heir to the family. Unlike his cruel father and brother, Clayton is an upright man, a dedicated husband and father. His only fault is that he was unfortunately born into such a family. An accident a year ago almost destroyed the Burroughs family, and both Clayton's brothers died. To make matters worse, the feud of the Burroughs family is just around the corner, planning to wait for an opportunity to cut off the old enemy in one fell swoop and eradicate the last of its blood. Therefore, Clayton is faced with an uncertain choice: should he desperately escape from his family's dark legacy and escape from this blood-stained mountain, or should he approach his father and brother's old tribe, the group of mountain people he has wanted to avoid his whole life, and join hands to fight the wolves in a desperate fight?
