About This Novel
My name is Tom Hazard, a high school history teacher who looks to be in his early forties. If there is any difference between me and other teachers, it is that what I tell about Shakespeare, Paris in the Jazz Age, and even Captain Cook's journey across the Pacific are all things I have seen with my own eyes. My real date of birth is March 3, 1581, and I am 439 years old. As long as you live long enough, everyone's worldview will be broken up and reorganized, and you will realize that all the meanings given by humans are shallow. The reason why people are human is not defined by these external things. I am like a wanderer wandering on the edge of time, with four hundred years of deepness and sighs, witnessing the ups and downs of this world, missing her and looking for her. How I want her to lean on my shoulder again. At that time, I can continue to love, get hurt, and deal with all the dangers that I may encounter in life.
