About This Novel
"Xin Qiji (three volumes)" is the posthumous work of Yao Xueyin Award-winner Yan Tingrui. It tells the story of Xin Qiji, the "Dragon in Poetry", who had patriotic passion and military talent, but was unable to realize his political ideals, and finally ended up with the tragic "killing thieves". The whole work is eloquent and has nearly one million words. The author uses a huge pen to describe the prosperity and splendor of the economy and art, the darkness and sloppiness of politics, and the cowardice and incompetence of military in the Southern Song Dynasty, revealing the inevitable defeat of the Southern Song Dynasty. The deep-seated reasons for his death; and he created a respectable and tragic tragic hero with his depressed and frustrated emotions, which vividly demonstrated Xin Qiji's expectations for the court, his desire for national reunification, and his grief and anger for his unfulfilled ambition.
