About This Novel

This manuscript is a research work on modern and contemporary Chinese writers and works. The manuscript cuts into the study of modern and contemporary Chinese literature from the perspective of cultural narrative, and explores the author's attitudes and social phenomena behind literature. Out of interest in writers' cultural choices and narrative strategies, the author selected Shen Congwen, Qian Zhongshu, Wang Zengqi, Liang Xiaosheng, Chi Zijian, and the Shaanxi writers group as my objects of observation. Through the cultural and narrative perspectives, I interpret the writers and their works, highlight the rich cultural connotation and aesthetic expression of their works, study the narrative strategies of their works, and explore their attitudes towards Chinese and Western culture, old and new culture, rural urban culture, elite popular culture, etc.
