About This Novel

This book is a collection of literary criticism. This book concentrates the author's thinking results of more than thirty years of relevant literary research and literary criticism. This book contains a total of 31 articles, divided into two parts. The upper part is "Tracing the Origin of Local Literature" and the lower part is "Reviews of Local Writers". The concept of "local literature" referred to in this book can be gradually narrowed: facing world literature, Chinese literature is "local"; facing Chinese literature, Hunan-Chu literature is "local"; facing Hunan-Chu literature, Yongzhou literature is "local". The "tracing of origins" in the previous chapter is based on such hierarchical concepts, starting from the relationship between literature, culture, and human life, to the influence of Shun culture on Chinese literary tradition, and then to the influence of Qu Yuan, Yuan Jie, and Liu Zongyuan on Xiangchu literature and Yongzhou literature. The influence of tradition, all the way to the roots of Hunan-Chu culture and the roots of traditional Chinese culture discovered by root-seeking literature writers, has formed a relatively complete system, which is a rough and historical macro-control of Chinese literature, Hunan-Chu literature, and Yongzhou literature.
