Research on the Image of India in Chinese Literature
by Wang Ruliang
About This Novel
This book is a history of India's image, a history of Chinese literati's acceptance of Indian culture, and a history of Sino-Indian cultural exchanges from a new perspective. Using research methods such as mutual corroboration of literature and history, and iconography, we systematically excavated, organized, and studied the materials related to the image of India in Chinese classics, so that the fragmented and incoherent image of India that originally existed in a recessive state can be clearly and clearly displayed. While providing a vertical outline and panoramic view of Indian culture, it also highlights the characteristics of Chinese culture itself. This article provides a historical review of the two thousand years of friendly exchanges between China and India, two big Eastern countries, and provides inspiration and thinking for China-India relations in the new era.
