This book is divided into two parts. The first part explores the theory of image essence, image function, image generation and image appreciation. The second part excerpts Wen Yiduo, Xu Zhimo, Dai Wangshu, Bian Zhilin, Shizhi and Shu Ting. The poems of more than ten poets such as Yu Jian, Gome, Chang Yao and Yu Guangzhong are systematically interpreted with imagery, and the poetic phenomena and poets' poems such as the July Poetry School and the Nine-leaf Poets, Gu Cheng and Haizi are compared and analyzed. It includes both theoretical integration and analysis, as well as practical text interpretation. While inheriting the inner spirit and context of classical image poetics and image criticism, it also embodies the sense of the times and realistic character of literary theory and literary criticism.
