About This Novel
John Ma (1882-1966) was a famous physical educator in the history of modern Chinese sports. Graduated from St. John's University in 1911. Because of his outstanding athletic ability, in the autumn of 1914, he applied to teach at Tsinghua School. From then on, he was gradually promoted from a teaching assistant to a professor and served as the director of the Sports Department of Tsinghua University. Until his death in 1966, he worked at Tsinghua University for 52 years and devoted his life to sports. The first half of the book, through Ma's colleagues, students and family members, reflects Ma's personality charm of loving the motherland, loving sports, loving life and being willing to help others from many aspects. The second half of the book introduces Mr. John Ma's relevant sports discussions.
