We all know that the history we have learned is divided into chronological histories. Fairbank used the perspective of "big history" to tell Chinese history, but he divided the history before the Republic of China into three parts.

The author's calm attitude and unique perspective in this book are full of vigilance and inspiration for the current Chinese society. Among the few general histories of China that I have read and understood before, it is considered the best one.
