About This Novel
This book mainly tells the story of Liu Huishan and Gu Yuanxing who participated in the revolution in their hometown of Jiangxi when they were teenagers and later became bodyguards protecting the head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. They followed the Central Red Army to climb snow-capped mountains and cross grasslands, and narrowly escaped death to reach Yan'an. They escorted Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other leaders of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to fight in northern Shaanxi, marched into Beijing, and participated in the formation of the Second Division of the Central Public Security Column to protect the Political Consultative Conference and the Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China. During the "Cultural Revolution", they continued to guard the head of the Military Commission who was under attack, and were ordered to perform special tasks. They witnessed the arduous journey of the birth of New China and the grace of the people's leaders in commanding the people.
