The themes of this collection are divided into two parts, one is "Story of Yancun" which describes rural life, and the other is novellas such as "National Order" and "White Zebra" which describe working life. Wang Shiyue's rural novels inherited the tradition of lyrical novels from Shen Congwen and Wang Zengqi. In the Yancun Story series, the author devotedly described the beautiful pastoral scenery and the creatures living in that land and water, expressing the tenderness and beauty of human nature. The countryside described by the author is naturally not the current countryside, nor the countryside of the past, but an idealized rural life. What the author is trying to tell readers here is: We can still live like this. Among the novels that reflect the life of migrant workers are "National Order", which was published as a headline by "People's Literature", "Nine Links" which describes the fate of ordinary Chinese workers under the financial crisis, "White Zebra" which penetrates into the psychological undercurrents of the migrant workers, and "Continuous Talking" which reveals inner pain in the text...
