About This Novel
This book won the Pulitzer Prize in 1960 and is one of the most borrowed books in American libraries. It is a must-read "conscience enlightenment" for American students. The movie "To Kill a Mockingbird" adapted from the novel won three Oscars at the 25th Academy Awards. The novel tells the story of three children in a small town in the southern United States during the Great Depression in the 1930s. The peaceful lives of three children were completely broken by two unjust cases. Rumors and facts, strength and weakness, justice and evil, loyalty and betrayal, they struggled to clear away the fog of life amidst pain and contradictions, witnessed the filth and glory of human nature, understood the cruelty and helplessness of the truth, and felt the warmth and true love of the world.

Mockingbird, good and evil! Pay tribute to the author, the innocence of children, the beauty of family life, the relationship between individuals and society, family and society! The sense of family honor, and most importantly, describes the racial discrimination in the United States in the 1930s.
Scout and Jem are both going to be great people
"No, everyone learns from scratch. No one is born with it. That little Walter is very smart. He falls behind in studies because he often misses school to help his father work. No, Jem, I think there is only one kind of person in the world, and that is human beings." Jem turned away and punched the pillow. When he calmed down and turned around, his face was covered with clouds. He was in a bad mood again, and I became cautious. His eyebrows knitted together and his mouth formed a thin line. He was silent for a while. "That's what I thought when I was your age," he finally said. "If there's only one kind of people, then why can't they get along with each other? If they're all the same, why do they despise each other? Scout, I think I'm starting to understand something. I think I'm starting to understand Weird Radley, and why he stays locked up in his house... Because he 'wants' to be in there."
This book is quite classic and worth reading.
Later I understood that in the courtroom deep in people's hearts, Tom had no lawsuit at all. He was dead from the moment Mela opened her mouth to scream.
Telling that period of history from a child's perspective is innocent, but there is greater sadness behind the words. Human development, in terms of evolutionary theory, is survival of the fittest, and there are several system changes that do not require bloodshed. From Lu Xun's point of view, I prefer to sleep in an iron box. When I wake up, I want to change the ending but can't do anything, which only adds to the fear!
As a lawyer, regarding Boo's case, he finally chose to follow the law in his heart, probably because he didn't want another robin to follow Tom's path~
