Me and My Colonel Grandpa
About This Novel
From touching his scars on the battlefield when he was seven years old, to wearing his modified military uniform when he was ten years old and understanding "hardship", to accompanying him back to the Martyrs Cemetery to witness the affection of his comrades, to discovering the tender expectations hidden in his notebook when sorting out his belongings. Those military supplies with traces of time, the military salute posture as straight as a pine, and the unspoken thoughts in front of the tombstone jointly outline the soft heart of an iron-blooded soldier. It also allows "I" to gradually understand my grandfather's persistence in faith, memory of his comrades, and expectations for future generations as he grows up. When "I" stood in front of the flag-raising platform and saluted the military salute, the yellowed memory and the immortal spirit intertwined in the morning light, telling the feelings and spiritual inheritance of family and country across generations.
