About This Novel

In 2013, Hollywood in the United States adapted it into a movie and won 7 Oscars that year. The content of the novel mainly describes the tragic life of black slaves. African American literature began with slave narratives (Slave Narrative) and black folklore that became popular as early as the seventeenth century.
