Self-study Class in Wutong Shadow
About This Novel
This is a campus novel focusing on the youthful years of high school. It starts from the encounter between Lin Zhixia and Jiang Che, and connects a period of youthful time hidden in the shade of sycamore trees, self-study classes and basketball games. An unexpected collision in the corridor of the first year of high school caused the serious and delicate Lin Zhixia and the sunny and passionate Jiang Che to break into each other's world. From the problem-solving notes passed in the self-study class, to the timely delivery of Band-Aids on the basketball court, to reviewing side by side by the window in the library, and holding an umbrella together in the autumn rain, the two of them spent their time together day after day, using question books to share knowledge, using hand warmers to convey warmth, using the tacit encouragement of sports meets and the cooperation of art festivals, quietly accumulating heart-beating fragments. They agreed to be admitted to key classes, share their daily life through text messages during the winter vacation, and express their feelings on the spring lawn. Even if they encountered small setbacks such as failure in exams, they would comfort each other and make progress together. It was not until the graduation season under the sycamore tree that Jiang Che revealed his love that had been hidden for three years, and the two finally broke through the window paper. After the college entrance examination, Jiang Che fulfilled his promise and took Lin Zhixia to the amusement park to make a future agreement at the highest point of the Ferris wheel. The story does not have ups and downs of bloody plot, only the most real details of high school life - morning reading in the morning light, the sound of pen tip in evening self-study, the sweetness of milk tea and the fragrance of ink in the exam paper. However, it accurately outlines the unique purity and enthusiasm of youth, recording the beautiful journey of two teenagers from strangers to familiarity, from fighting side by side to running in both directions, like a letter to youth, gentle and healing.
