About This Novel

This article starts from the fundamental characteristics of literature's "humanities" and summarizes the main trend of literature in the new era as: the discovery and recasting of the national soul. It is believed that this is an inevitable trend in the development of Chinese history, Chinese society, and Chinese literature to this day. It is not a man-made norm, but a natural phenomenon of the intersection of human consciousness (the new awakening of the Chinese nation's self-awareness) and literary consciousness (contemporary literature gets rid of dependence and rebuilds independent character). This article disagrees with using the diversified state of modern Western "ownerless trends" to simply analogize the specific diversified phenomenon of contemporary Chinese literature. At the same time, it believes that humanism, as a general philosophical trend, should not be regarded as a mainstream literary trend due to the lack of "intermediaries" and other reasons; realism, whether in the narrow sense of method or the broad sense of spirit, is not suitable to cover increasingly complex literary phenomena.
