In the disciplinary theory of literary geography, there are two core aspects: one is the conceptual category of the discipline; the other is the basic idea of the discipline. The primary issues closely related to these two aspects are the nature, tasks and characteristics of the discipline. Only when the nature, tasks and characteristics of the discipline are clearly discussed can other theoretical issues have a direction. This article discusses the literary and cultural aspects of literary geography from the perspective of its subject nature and tasks, and proposes the foothold of the subject theory.
