About This Novel
Mo Yan's book of redemption for young people in their trough period. This book contains 40 essays by Mo Yan, which shows Mo Yan's attitude towards life and his understanding of difficult moments in life from the perspectives of family and friends, childhood and growth, reading and writing. Among them, the essay "Not Knocked Down by the Strong Wind" is Mo Yan's message to young people on May 4th Youth Day. It tells the story of encountering a strong wind on a dam with his grandfather when he was a child, and his grandfather resisting the strong wind. It encourages young people not to give up when they encounter difficult moments in life. Among them, "My Roommate Yu Hua" tells the story of Mo Yan and Yu Hua falling in love and killing each other. Specially included is Mo Yan's new creation "Remembering Shi Tiesheng", recalling the story of him and Yu Hua taking Shi Tiesheng to steal cucumbers and playing football with Shi Tiesheng as the goalkeeper.

Just don't get knocked down by the strong wind! ! !
📍The universe is so big, and human beings are so small; time and space are vast, and life is so short. But thinking about these issues all the time is asking for trouble. I suddenly had this feeling when I looked at the sky while taking the train last time. Although I have theoretical knowledge, when I really look at the distant blue, I still can't help but wonder why the world is so magical. What is it like on the other side? 📍Think about the universe. Our earth is nothing more than a speck of dust in the universe. What is the value of everything on this speck of dust, including fame, fortune, right and wrong? So when you think about it, in the vast universe, being a human being is a huge blessing. Even pain is our experience as a human being. Sometimes you really have to jump out of the limitations of your own vision. Now from a higher level perspective, why are you struggling so much? Except for physical pain, other pains are controllable. This world is just for fun and experience, and it's almost okay ~ 📍Many people think that they are extraordinary, which proves that they happen to be ordinary people. Truly extraordinary people often think they are ordinary. Ordinary is not a derogatory term, ordinary ≠ mediocre 📍The Chinese New Year means that children are progressing towards the glorious period of their lives, while for adults, it means that they are slipping towards the declining years. "Sliding towards the final years of decay", this description is really too vivid. 📍As we grow older and our lives gradually improve, we all have our own bicycles, and the scope of watching movies further expands. Movies became a clear spring that comforted our souls in those years, and also became a link between our friendship with young people from other counties. Several young people in our village fell in love with young people from other counties while watching movies and formed beautiful marriages.
