On the battlefield without gunpowder smoke, civilization and barbarism, nobleness and despicability, humanity and inhumanity compete. During World War II, British officer Nicholson was ordered to lead 500 of his men to surrender to the Japanese army. In order to invade India, the Japanese army urged Allied prisoners of war to build the Burma-Thailand Railway. Nicholson and his men received the task of building the Bridge on the River Kwai on the railway line. At the same time, a task force headed by Major Heath of the British Special Forces received an order to blow up the bridge, thereby cutting off this vital traffic lifeline for the Japanese army.
