"Macbeth" tells the story of the Scottish general Macbeth who received a prophecy from the three witches that he would become king. Out of ambition and the instigation of his wife, Macbeth assassinated King Duncan and proclaimed himself king. Tormented by self-blame and fantasy, he soon degenerated into a tyrant until the couple finally perished.
