About This Novel

This book is set in England in the 16th century, and describes a fairy-tale story in which a prince and a pauper exchange identities. By chance, the identical-looking prince Edward and the pauper Tom exchange clothes, which leads to a reversal of fate. The former little beggar became the prince's "stand-in", and the real prince lived abroad, suffering bullying and ridicule. Later, the prince finally returned to the palace after experiencing various disasters; and Tom also returned the throne that did not belong to him to the prince.
