We Have No Secrets
by Wu Xiaole
About This Novel
Lawyer Fan Yanzhong always thought there were no secrets between him and his wife Wu Xinping. But the wife disappeared overnight. Fan Yanzhong launched an investigation from the place where his wife worked. The more he traced, the more suspicious he became: his wife's mother, who claimed to be dead, suddenly appeared, revealing Wu Xinping's past-she had been in trouble in the small town. The Song family, a once well-known family in the town, had two brothers and sisters. The elder brother Song Huaigu was handsome and outstanding, while the younger sister Song Huaixuan had a withdrawn and eccentric personality and was Wu Xinping's best friend. Before the high school entrance examination, Song Huaixuan invited Wu Xinping to Song Huaigu's birthday party. A few days later, Wu Xinping told her teacher that Song Huaigu had raped her. Is this past incident related to Wu Xinping's disappearance? However, everyone who was investigating invariably found Song Huaixuan. There seems to be another hidden agenda in this case that is derided by the people in the small town. Who was the protagonist of the incident that year? What happened that night? Following the phenomenal work "Your Child Is Not Your Child", writer Wu Xiaole focuses on socially taboo topics, laying out layers and layers of webs, trying to describe the complex inner world of the victim "I" and lead readers to immerse themselves in the dark and desperate life experience.

After reading it, I had mixed feelings. The book revolves around secrets, and the title of the book also corresponds to the ending: We Have No Secrets. The author slowly reveals the secrets hidden in each main character's heart through step-by-step decryption. When all the secrets were revealed, I saw a story full of sadness. The secrets of the women who mainly appear in the book are all related to sexual assault. The author's detailed psychological description made me feel the pain, uneasiness, torture and complex emotions they had towards the perpetrators when they went through these times. For example, Audrey felt towards Teacher Lin, and Song Huaixuan towards her brother, both of whom were full of love and hate. For the first time, I realized that some victims didn't just hate their attackers. But the suppression of these secrets is really too painful for them. It is really too painful for them who are young or even adults. It is like a balloon that is constantly being inflated. Every time the balloon inflates, it will drag them towards the abyss of more pain. The perpetrators are not only those who assault them, but also bystanders who are indifferent or even sarcastic towards them. Sometimes they may also come from close family members and families. They are the last powerful pushers to push the victims to a desperate situation. I hope that friends who have read this book will be influenced by this book. When they see similar things happening, they will have more care and sympathy for the victims and less malicious speculations. [Emot=default,64/]
There is no empathy in this world, only sympathy for others
In fact, I didn't deliberately learn about this book before reading it. I saw it from a blogger I like and recommended it as a story that I would read in one sitting. The theme of suspense and reasoning made me plan to watch it for entertainment after work, but the comment made by the blogger "Another Fang Siqi story" was naturally ignored by me for some unknown reason. So one relaxing night, I suddenly entered this peaceful and desperate world. In the whole book, probably what I dislike the most is the little fish. She wants to be a hero in the world she thinks, but easily escapes in the world she doesn't understand. People can never truly empathize with each other. People have too many sides and emotions. A person can give you incurable scars and also give you special emotional support, but people who have not experienced it will never understand. I couldn't tell whether she was right or cowardly, but when Xiaoyu left, and when she finally asked that question, I was surrounded by Huaixuan's huge pain, and while I suddenly realized it, I was hugged tightly by unspeakable shame and unexplainable pain. Of course, reality is far more painful than fiction. Some of the annoying details described in the brother's character add some seemingly reasonable foreshadowing for his behavior, making people think that he did such things because he is a bad person. The ending of the story is relatively happy, but life is more about continuing to live peacefully with the person who hurt you, and even sometimes, you feel warm from his body. Disgusting and having to live again.
The child's father is running for mayor, and his child is in danger at any time. His father didn't come to pick him up and he couldn't leave. Fortunately, he met Fan Yanzhong.

The feeling of powerlessness, how to get relief, the life that there is no way to start over. The victims are not at fault, there will always be people willing to believe them
The woman complained to Fan Yanzhong that the child was ignorant. But I didn't expect that this child knew him. The child was embarrassed and called Uncle Fan.
Fan Yanzhong: I plan to cross the road. He saw the boy running over in a hurry, and the woman calling him from behind. Then the light turned red again, and they all waited together for the red light to pass.
