Compilation and Annotations of Jin Tuoyang of Hubei Province (four Volumes in Total)
by Yue Ke
About This Novel
The twenty-eight volumes of "The Collection of Jin Tuoyang of E Kingdom" and the thirty volumes of "The Continuation of Jin Tuoyang of E Kingdom" are the most important and detailed existing historical books recording Yue Fei's deeds. They were compiled by Yue Ke, the grandson of Yue Fei. During the reign of Emperor Ningzong of the Song Dynasty, the imperial court named Yue Fei the King of E, hence the name "E State". "Jintuo" is the name of the square in Jiaxing Fucheng, and Yue Ke once lived in Jintuo Square. After Emperor Gaozong, Qin Hui and others of the Song Dynasty killed Yue Fei, they tampered with official history, resulting in a large number of written materials about Yue Fei being lost or destroyed. It was not until the case of Xiaozong was overturned that Yue Fei's third son Yue Lin reorganized Yue Fei's historical records. During the reigns of Ningzong and Lizong of the Song Dynasty, Yue Lin's son Yue Ke inherited his father's ambition and compiled it into a volume. This book is an annotation and translation of "E Guo Jin Tuo Ye's Compilation" and "E Guo Jin Tuo Ye's Continuation", in order to promote the true deeds of the national hero Yue Fei more widely. The original manuscript is "E Guo Jin Tuo Ye's Compilation and Continuation" provided by Mr. Wang Zengyu (2020 edition of Zhonghua Book Company).
