This book was edited by Patrick Boujom, a professor at the Collège de France, with the participation of 122 history professors and researchers from academic institutions such as the French National Academy of Sciences, the French Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Supérieures, Sciences Po, and the National Archives. What is special about this work is that it is not a traditional French history, nor a traditional world history, but "a French history that uses world history as data." Using time as a clue (from prehistory to 2015), the authors selected important historical events and phenomena in politics, literature, medicine, art, education and other fields, and discussed the mutual influence and connections between France and the world.
