This book is a joint translation of two heavyweight works by the famous Mexican historian Miguel León-Portilla: "Episodes of the Defeated" and "The Witness of the Defeated." "Episodes of the Defeated" was published in 1959. It records the Spanish conquest of the Aztecs in Mexico from the perspective of the Indians. The author extracted typical examples from a large number of Indian writings (including manuscripts written by ancient Indians with pictorial characters) and oral histories to write this book, and noted the sources of the data, which has a very high historical value.
