About This Novel
On the bank of the Yangtze River in the south of the Yangtze River, there is a garden tomb with green tombs, beautiful trees, and greenery. For many years, a poignant story has been circulating. During the Beiyang Government period, warlords separated the country and wars continued. In the autumn of the 13th year of the Republic of China (AD 1924), Qi Xieyuan, the governor of Jiangsu Province of the Zhili clique, fought against Lu Yongxiang, the governor of Zhejiang Province of the Anhui clique, in order to compete for the opium market in Shanghai. This was known as the Qi-Lu war. The battlefield was between Shanghai, Jiading and Kunshan. The two sides fought and the Soviet army suffered a defeat. The Soviet army was originally a mob with extremely bad military discipline. Wherever the defeated soldiers went, they raped, looted, and committed all kinds of evil. From then on, the peaceful south of the Yangtze River was involved in the troubled times where soldiers and bandits were rampant. But more than 20 miles west of Kunshan City, there is a large lake of ten thousand hectares, which is famous for its clam production and is called Clam Lake. There is an island in Clam Lake called Clam Mountain.
