Journey to the West
by Li Guangtian
About This Novel
Most of the collected texts here are travelogues. The author was in Jinan when the Anti-Japanese War began. When Jinan was in crisis, the author moved with the school to the foot of Mount Tai. On December 24, when it was freezing and snowy, we left Tai'an amid wild bombings from enemy planes. After that, he moved southward, from Henan to Hubei. We lived in Yunyang City on the left bank of the Han River for half a year, and then walked to Sichuan for two months. It was December 1st when we left Yunyang, and it was a very cold day. When we arrived at our destination, there were cauliflower flowers everywhere. What is written in this small collection is the situation along the way from Yunyang to Sichuan.
